Shodō – japanese calligraphy

In 2016, I set off to Japan to learn Japanese handicraft. Little did I know that Japanese calligraphy – Shodō 書道 would become my path for years and a magnetic motivation for further trips to Japan.
Since 2018, I have been on the examination path of Shodō, today having the fourth Dan master degree in this field.

In the styles of tensho 篆書, reisho 隷書, kaisho 楷書, gyōsho 行書 and sōsho 草書, I have been calligraphing selected words (especially those related to nature), master writings, traditional Japanese poems and sayings.
Sometimes the calligraphic works are accompanied by elements of Sumi-e 墨絵 ink painting.
The works selected below are the result of work with my masters in Japan, but they are also an element of artistic creation, moving from traditional paper to a motif on a T-shirt, a mural or a stamp.
