September 1 – December 1, 2017 I spent on an art residency in Japan, in my beloved corner of it – the town of Fujiyoshida. The project I carried out there consisted of creating a graphic, very subjective story about Japan, using 19 photos and 19 graphics of my authorship. Each pair: photo + graphic was provided with a short commentary. The project and these works currently constitute the second chapter of my book “Ja.Japonia / 私と日本”, published in 2018. On November 3, 2017, the summary of my residency was an exhibition in a local antique shop. On October 28, 2018, to my great joy, I managed to organize an author’s meeting in that same place, with the already published book. Fujiyoshida, with Mount Fuji levitating above it, has been a magical place for me since my first visit, when in the evening I went to a forest where live trees, that are over 1000 years old…
