“Léon says that rabid dogs are beautiful. I believe in it.” – this is the slogan accompanying the Ratatà festival and the best description. It is a celebration of comics, illustrations, graphics and independent publications. A series of days full of events, concerts, workshops and exhibitions. Along with the book “Puste Miejsce przy stole” (eng. Empty spot at the Table”, we – 6 authors from all over Poland were invited to be part of the festival exhibition and exhibit the original drawings in the above-mentioned publication. This book is a graphic story about the subject of refugeeism and was created in the Lublin House of Words. You can read more about the project in the Events tab, “Puste Miejsce przy stole” – book premiere. As the organizers of the Ratatà festival write: “This festival is the result of true social cooperation between different realities and entities that are to restore the central place in culture and community in everyday life. Ratatà works “virally” in many parts of the city to redesign urban space and its use.” I also had the opportunity to sell my works at the art market as part of the festival. For me, Ratatà is about amazing and socially engaged people and a city full of grassroots initiatives. It’s a festival of creative freedom.
